Voces Latinas 1st Annual Health Fair in recognition of
Latino HIV Testing Month in July. |

The fair
took place in Vincent Daniel Square Park in Woodside Queens. It was a
day to promote HIV testing as well as other health screenings for
Latinos. Resource tables providing alcohol and substance abuse
services, legal services, mental health, health information, were
offered. In addition, health screenings such as HIV testing, STI
screenings, Cholesterol and Diabetes screening was offered. The fair
was a success in that over 300 spectators attended, 80 diabetes tests were
given, 30 HIV tests were done, and six folks were screened for STIs. A
